Broken fiberglass axle rods are a thing of the past with the Blue Heron Strut suspension. This remarkable innovation utilizes time-tested technology found in small general aviation aircraft suspension systems, and gives the Blue Heron a superior ability to handle ruts, holes, uneven ground, and extremely hard landings.
The scissor action of the Strut yields more than 6 inches of vertical travel, more than twice that found on most powered parachutes using fiberglass rods or coil-over-shock setups. The tension is also adjustable to allow personal levels of comfort customization for each pilot/passenger configuration. Shock cord material provides strength and high-durability, with simple adjustments and easy replacement capability. All of this while adding only 2.5 pounds to the total weight of the aircraft!
The Blue Heron Strut is standard equipment on all Marathon models of aircraft. Click the picture above for a larger view.
